Surprise! The Loveliest Card…Using Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper

The concept of this card is nothing new. Look up cards with these styles and many show up on Pinterest. But, I had never made one myself and it was so much fun I can’t wait to make more.

The fun begins with a simple front of just DSP (designer series paper!) and a simple decorative sentiment and butterflies. The POW really comes when you open up the card!

Any one would love to receive a card like this.

Here is how I made it:

First, take a half sheet of cardstock of your choosing, measuring 5-1/2″ b 8-1/2″ and score it down the center at 4-1/2″. Decorate as you please!

Second, take a piece of whisper white cardstock measuring 5-1/4″ x 8″.
Score down the middle, and measure from the center 1-1/2″ on both sides from the middle mark. And 2-1/2″ down on the center line. Create your diagonals (I use a steel ruler) and fold.

I love the butterflies popping out of this card in a great big surprise and it has me thinking about other objects I could have popping out. Flowers. Bugs. Bunnies. Mason Jars. I think the possibilities could be endless.

Unfortunately this particular set of DSP is no longer available. But, I know there is lots of other designer paper we could incorporate.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you were inspired by my project.

xoxo,
