Frappuccino Fun with Coffee Cup Framelits
This card was inspired by a card sketch I received in my inbox. I love it when others inspire me to create cards and sometimes you need a jumping off point. I recreated a similar idea of the sketch I was inspired by to inspire others. It is fun and the whole idea is to get people crafting!
Recipe for Making my Card:
I started by stamping and then lightly water coloring my coffee cup! I knew this card was going to be “unicorn” inspired using a cold cup and bright colors. I mixed Flirty Flamingo with Pool Party and Mint Macaron. Once my water colored cup was dried I covered it in wink of stella.
Second, I worked on the lid of my cup! I die cut out the lid in vellum and heat embossed in clear to make the shape of the lid. I then die cut out my whip cream, because every unicorn coffee drink needs whip cream, right!?
I stamped my whip cream in Flirty Flamingo and then I took my embossing paste and “whipped” up a pattern onto the paper whip cream. It looks so awesome! I set it aside and let it dry.
Putting the card together was easy. I took a half sheet of Thick Whisper White and cut it down the middle in the hot dog fold, at 4.25″ and scored in the middle at 5.5″. I set it aside and took a piece of Whisper White and made a mat at 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ (just under 4.25 x 5.5″) to make a thin border around the card.
I used scrap strips of Flirty Flamingo, Mint Macaron and Pool Party cardstock to place on my mat and cut off the extra bits that over hang.
The rest is just assembly.
It turned out to be the cutest card and someone very deserving will receive it. Please remember that if you want to purchase these adorable coffee cup framelits, please do so before the 3rd of June. They are retiring before the new catalog goes live and when they are gone they are gone.
Thanks for stopping by today! I’ll be seeing you, soon!
