Small Necklace Box and 3 x 6 Card For a Graduation/Birthday

Small Necklace Box and 3 x 3 Card For a Graduation/Birthday

What a cute little gift set for your graduate or birthday recipient. This small necklace box (or you could put money it in!) and 3 x 3 card is small enough to stow away until the perfect time and it makes the sweetest gift. Let me tell you how I made them.

Start with embossing in black, two butterflies from the Beautiful Day stamp set. I chose to then watercolor the butterflies in Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green. Once I have done that I cut them out and set them aside until I am ready to use them.

To make the 3 x 3 card, I used Thick Whisper White cardstock and cut it to 3 x 6 inches and scored it in half. I used Flirty Flamingo at 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ to mat the card and then I used glue dots to adhere one of the butterflies I had prepared.

Preparing the box is fun! Here is how I did it:

I started with two pieces of Flirty Flamingo cut to 3″ x 4″. Using my Simply Scored tool I scored both pieces at 1/2″ on all four sides. To make the lid I pulled slightly away from the scoring tool wall to make it just the tiniest bit bigger! This allows for the box to nestle inside each other perfectly.

Next, I cut tabs on all four sides. I glued the tabs and secured the box.

How the tabs look before gluing.

I hope you love this sweet little gift as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by today and I’ll be seeing you!
