Floral Beautiful Day Using Basic Grey

Floral Beautiful Day Using Basic Grey

This card is stunning! I ended up sending it to a woman who found me on the internet and entered a basic card contest. I love this card and although it looks so sophisticated, it was super easy to make.

I started by stamping and watercoloring the flower from the stamp set Beautiful Day. The colors I used were: Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive. I water colored them, blending each other into the first, using my Aqua painter. After the watercoloring dried I fussy cut out the flower and set it aside.

The next step in my card was to use the rectangle stitched framelits and die cut a piece of Whisper White to adhere to my Gray Granite mat, measuring 4-1/8 x 5-1/4″. I also die cut out a square stitched framelit in Basic Gray and used it not only as a guide but kind of like a window on my card. I used the leaves stamp from the Healing Hugs stamp set and stamped them about where I thought they should go, in Basic Gray. I am so glad I took the time to find placement and exactly where I wanted everything because the card turned out exquisite. I then placed my flower on top of the frame using mini dimensionals, and big ones to create the effect I was looking for.

I finished my card up by decorating a coordinating envelope and placing basic pearls everywhere on the card. The inside I left blank to write out my wording as I desired when I choose to use the card.

I hope you love this card as much as I do. Try out this color combination when you water color next.

Thanks for stopping by today! I’ll be seeing you soon!
