Bright and Cheery Butterfly Birthday Card ~ Featuring Embossing Paste
Bright and Cheery are the only ways I can describe this adorable birthday card!
This card was super simple to assemble once I got all the elements in place.
This is what I did!
I first started with two specific pieces.
- I used embossing paste on a piece of 4″ x 5.25″ Pool Party cardstock!
To do that I took a bit of embossing paste onto my silicone mat and used a drop of Pool Party reinker and mixed it in until it was all blue. I then used a pattern party decorative mask and smeared the Pool Party embossing paste all over the mat until I received the look I was waiting for. I then set it aside and let it dry, about an hour!
2. I heat embossed with versa mark and tuxedo black ink, a butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set. Once it was cool, I water colored with my aqua painter, the butterfly in Pool Party, Granny Apple Green and Flirty Flamingo. Next I cut him out.
I took a ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment from the Here’s a Card stamp set and stamped it in Pool Party onto Whisper White and cut it out using the circle dies. I cut out another stitched oval die in Flirty Flamingo and adhered them together with snail. I took a skinny (about 1/4″) scrap strip of Granny Apple Green and some Whisper White flax Ribbon and I was ready to assemble my card.
I grabbed my Flirty Flamingo card base measuring (hamburger fold) 5.5″ x 4.25″ and adhered the Pool Party, embossed mat with snail. I used a little tear-n-tape to adhere the Whisper White Flax Ribbon and then some liquid glue to adhere the Granny Apple Green scrap. I mounted the butterfly with glue dots and my oval sentiment with dimensionals.
