A Cut Above The Rest ~ Scissor Inspired Thank You Cards
I had this idea floating around my head for awhile to make our famiy’s hairdresser a set of note cards revolving around the scissors from the Crafting Forever Stamp Set. I finally made them and gave them to her and I love how they turned out.
Let me start at the beginning.
Our hairdresser is also our family friend and she is just lovely to be around. I was crafting one day and I fell in-love with the scissors from the Crafting Forever stamp set. I immediately thought I needed to make a fun note card set for her, but then life happened and other cards were made.
Before you know it, it is Christmas time and the idea was laid upon my heart again and I just knew I had to make them.
I started by deciding I wanted to make twelve, Whisper White note cards which are slightly smaller than your typical A2 card size. They measure 5″ x 3.5″.
I also made the decision to start with a simple card first. One pair of scissors and one simple thank you. I colored it in with my dark pool party stampin’ blend. Our next hair appointment would not be until the first of the new year, so I knew right away that I didn’t want any of these cards to have a holiday theme and let’s face it everyone needs thank you cards throughout the year.
For the second set of cards I did a simple back and forth scissor theme across the middle of the card. I again colored it with my blends, this time focusing on the light pool party blend and the light night of navy blend.
For the third set of cards I decided to do scissors all over. This might be my favorite because it turned out adorable. I used daffodil delight, highland heather and light pool party for my stampin’ blends.
For the sentiment, I used the thank you from Abstract Impressions and for the third card specifically, I attached it by first stamping it to the smallest stitched rectangle framelit and then to the front of the card.
We had the pleasure of delivering the cards last week and they were very well received. I was so glad I followed through with my decision to make them.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project and I hope to see you again, soon!
