Piece of Cake in Lovely Lipstick ~ Fun Fold

Piece of Cake in Lovely Lipstick ~ Fun Fold

What a fun birthday card for a dear friend!

The color palette alone is worth celebrating. I can just imagine the excited when she opens the mail and sees such a treat. The way it is created, you could easily stuff it with a gift card too.

This is an easy fun fold to create, let me tell you how I did it.

I first started with a piece of Lovely Lipstick Cardstock measuring 8.5″ x 5.5″ scored down the middle at 4.25″. Once the score line is burnished I cut off 1.75″ on the one side to make it shorted when it is folded.

Next, I took a piece of Petal Pink cardstock measuring 7″ x 5″ scored down the middle at 3.5″. (notecard size)

They get adhered together (opposites attaract) and that is what creates the fun fold. Then you literally decorate how you please.

For this card, I used an embossing folder on the front half of the Lovely Lipstick panel. For the front of the card I used another piece of Lovely Lipstick measuring 4.75″ x 3.25″.

For the focal point, I used Whisper White cardstock measuring 3″ x 4.5″. I stamped the ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment from Perennial Birthday and I used the Cake Builder punch to create my cake. I colored in the frosting with my Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blend and used Basic Black for the cake stand. I popped the cake up on dimensionals.

To add one final touch I used Whisper White 5/8″ (1.6 Cm) Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to add a cute bow.

Although I didn’t do this for my card (at least not yet!), I would add a little Wink of Stella to that frosting to drive home the femininity of the card.

This card is so adorable and easy to make that I changed up the color scheme a little and made a second card using The Pop of Petals stamp set and the Four Petal Punch.

In this card I used soft colors and created my own patterned paper by stamping randomly all over and using My Stampin’ Blends to color in the centers of the petals.

What a versitle fun fold! My kind of card. Easy to replicate over and over and fun for the receipient every time.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post today! Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you soon!
