Bonanza Buddies Birthday Card Featuring Swirly Frames

Bonanza Buddies Birthday Card Featuring Swirly Frames

I had a blast making a birthday card for my little who just turned nine. I am in complete denial that she is growing up!

Her world revolves around her love of big cats, and when Bonanza Buddies was released in the mini catalog, I knew this was a set I had to add to my collection. I also knew that lion was going to show up on her birthday card.

Bonanza Buddies Bundle

Whimsical animals, confetti patterns, and detailed birthday images are the main features of the Bonanza Buddies Stamp Set. They are perfect for birthday cards, party favors, and all your birthday creations.

The stamp set includes 22 photopolymer stamps that allow you to do two-step stamping.

The stamp set comes in a bundle for a 10% savings or you can buy the stamp set by itself.

Create a custom die-cut bird, koala, lion, tag, and party decorations like balloons and banners using the Bonanza Dies. Combine the dies with the Bonanza Buddies Stamp Set to quickly and easily cut out the stamped images from the set. Great for cards and other fun paper projects.

There are 10 dies included in the set. The largest die measures: 3-7/8” x 2-1/4”. You use the dies with a die-cutting & embossing machine, like a Big Shot.

Recipe for Making my Card

I started with a Bermuda Bay cardstock base, in the hamburger style, measuring 8.5″ x 5.5″ scored down the middle at 4.25″.

I wanted to make a background to add to focal point of my card so I brought out my Swirly Frames stamp set and made a random pattern on a piece of Whisper White measuring 2.75″ x 5.5″. I used Coastal Cabana and Mango Melody to create my background. I then attached it directly to the front of my card.

I needed another pop of color, so I reached for the brand new paper pack, Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper. It is so cute and it marrys well with the stamp bundle.

You receive 2 each, high quality, double sided paper in 6 patterns. 12 sheets of 12 x 12 paper! I plan on buying an extra to have it around, because I am going to use every inch of this paper stack in projects!

I attached a piece of DSP measuring 1″ x 5.5″ to the left side of my card front, just slightly over the background I made.

I next ran a piece of Mango Melody and Whisper White through my die cutting machine in the brand new Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I absolutely love how they pair up together to create a gorgeous focal point.

I stamped my sentiment onto the Whisper White piece in Coastal Cabana. I then grabbed a piece of granny apple green/coastal cabana (now retired) ribbon and made a cute flag.

Finally, I was ready for my lion. I stamped my lion in Soft Suede and Mango Melody and covered his mane in Wink of Stella. I used the dies and cut out his mane first and body second. I adhered the body to my framelits and used a dimensional to add his mane. He is so stinking cute!!!

Then, just when you think I am finished…..I went to work on the inside of my card!

I kept it simple with a Mango Melody mat frame around Whisper White. On the white I stamped ‘happy birthday’, from the stamp set, in Coastal Cabana and made a balloon (again with the stamp set) in Mango Melody and Momento Black. I gave my balloon a liberal covering in Wink of Stella to pop.

I loved the way my card turned out so much, that I decided to feature it in a Facebook LIVE last Monday. Check it out on my Facebook page, if you like. @thepapercraftaddict
