3D Thursday with A Pop Up Card Using The Gangs All Meer

3D Thursday with A Pop Up Card Using The Gangs All Meer

I love 3D Thursdays. The day of the week when I show off a project, such as gift packaging. A lot of times it is something that is not be a card. This week though, it is a card and it is adorable. I had this cute idea and I just had to run with it.

I have to be honest when I first saw the Gangs all Meer stamp set in the Sale-A-Bration catalog I was not gung ho about it. I liked it, but the meerkats where not my favorite…..at first! But then I got my hands on it and they jumped right into my heart. This stamp set is so whimsical and lots of fun!

The Gangs All Meer

During Sale-a-bration (now until March 31st) you can receive this stamp set FREE with a $50.00 purchase. It is the only way you can receive it. This stamp set is NOT for sale and when Sale-a-Bration is over, it’s gone forever.

Recipe For The Card

I started with a Pear Pizzazz card base cut the hotdog style at 4.25″ x 11″. I scored it differently then a regular card and that is whaty makes this a little different.

I scored it, using my Simply Score board, at 4.5″, 5″, 5.5″, 6″, and 6.5″ on the long side. I then burnished my score lines back and forth in a constantine fold. (They are hard to see in my photo, but if you look closely you can see them.)

I then took tear-n-tape and attached the flaps together. You want to use a strong adhesive for this so the card doesn’t fall apart upon delivery.

Picture left is the underside, picture right is the top side.

You are going to set the card base off to the side until you are ready to adhere the other pieces.

For the front of the card base, I decided to keep it simple. Afterall, I wanted all the good bits to go on the inside.

I took a piece of Crushed Curry designer series paper and cut it 1″ x 4.5″ and adhered it right to the card base. I used a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped ‘happy birthday’ from the Perrenial Birthday stamp set, front and low and I stamped a cute little meerkat standing on the birthday. I used my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends to color in my meerkat. I then took a piece of Crushed Curry and stamped a party hat in Momento Black. I fussy cut it out and used a mini dimensional to attached it to his head.

Now, I went to work on the inside.

I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the gang of meerkats in Momento Black and colored them in with my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. I then fussy cut them out leaving a small border at the base to attach them to the inside flap of my card. I adhered them standing up with tear-n-tape.

Above the meerkats I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock mearusing 4″ x 4.25″ and strategically placed my cactus flowers. I masked one of them with a post-it note mask to make them look clustered on the left side. I then used my Stampin’ Blends to color them in.

I followed the same idea for below the meerkats.

I used a piece of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 4″ x 4.25″. I cut a strip of Pear Pizzazz measuring 1/2″ x 4″ and adhered it just below the middle line of the Whisper White. I then, stamped a sentiment from the stamp set, ‘from all of us’, in Momento Black.

Next, very carefully, I stamped another cactus flower and the lizard off to the side and colored them with my Stampin’ Blends.

This card makes me so happy and it was so fun to make! Thank you for stopping by today! I will see you again, soon.
