Paper Piecing Background with Good Morning Magnolia
I am so over the moon, happy, that Good Morning Magnolia will be returning in our new annual catalog, in June! Woohoo!!
I made this card using paper scraps. I am SO into this right now!! Let me show you my card and tell you all about it.
I hate to say it but the pictures DO not do this card justice. Ahhh! It is so stunning in person.
Good Morning Magnolia Cling Stamp Set #149298
The 10 piece, Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set, is a versatile floral stamp set featuring a gorgeous magnolia for your wow projects!
Stampin’ Up!’s cling stamps
* Are premium rubber stamps.
* Have deeply etched images so you get a superior stamped impression each time.
* Are precut so you don’t have to trim.
* Are repositionable; temporarily mount them on clear blocks for stamping, then remove them for storage.
* Save space—you need only one set of blocks for all your cling stamps (blocks sold separately).
* Come packaged in cases with images on the spine for easy storage and quick reference.
I think Pretty Peacock is one of my new favorite colors of all time. I love how deep and rich it is and I am so glad it is around for another year. The color combination is delicious!
My Card Layout
I started by creating my paper piecing background! I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 5″ x 3.75″ and started mounting my 1/2″ strips of cardstock at an angle until I created the look I wanted. It only took minutes because I used up scraps from cutting down all my cardstock.
I then heat embossed in white, the huge magnolia flower. This is what MAKES this card so stunning. I absolutely love the look of it.
I then mounted my focal point to a crumb cake card base, cut in the hamburger fold at 5.5″ x 8.5″, and scored down the middle at 4.25″; with dimensionals. My sentiment was kind of an after thought, because I needed something but I didn’t want to distract from the card.
For the inside, I left it blank but I mounted Rich Razzleberry measuring at 4″ x 5.25″ and Whisper White measuring 5″ x 3.75″ together.
Thanks for stopping by! Let me know how much you love this card and this technique and especially let me know if you give it a try. But, warning, you might get addicted like me!!
